Description:
Enjoy an unforgettable run along the river Spree and
the famous boulevard Unter den Linden. Discover the
monumental and at the same time filigree architecture
of the new government quarter, where famous architects
like Axel Schultes, Charlotte Frank and Stephan Braunfels
created a "band of the Federation" towards
the end of the 1990s. Symbolically it connects the two
halves of the city, which where divided by the wall
from 1961 till 1989. As you pass the museum island you
enter the historical towncenter of Berlin, where the
prussian glory still radiates from the monuments built
at the time of the Hohenzollern-kings.
Thereafter you will see the Forum Fridericianum and
jog down the boulevard Unter den Linden. At its end
you will have a chance to admire the splendid Hotel
Adlon. Crossing the Brandenburg Gate the tour continues
along the Strasse des 17. Juni, past the Sowjet War
Memorial and across the northern Tiergarten, to once
again reach the starting point at the house of world
cultures, called "pregnant oister" by the
Berlin townsfolk.
